Do you feel like you’ve struggled with weight loss your whole life? Me, too! Read my story below.



EARLY STRUGGLES:

I’ve had a personal struggle with being overweight for many years. I grew up with that struggle and carried it into adulthood. At age 32 and 289 pounds, feeling like I’d tried it all and still couldn’t get it under control, I turned to Lap-Band surgery (later reversed), that only worked temporarily.

The Lap-Band definitely worked to drop a lot of weight quickly but only temporarily. After 10 years, the band stopped cooperating with my body. The best thing it did for me was show me how much better my body, my joints, and my frame felt with less weight but never did anything to change my relationship with food.

Upon its removal, I was terrified to be so uncomfortably heavy again, so I was once again on the hunt for the next thing to try. I was down from my initial 289 pounds, now at 220, and struggling. I knew, left to my own old habits, I’d surely pack on the pounds.

MY MACRO JOURNEY STARTED:


I stumbled upon the concept of counting macros, balancing food and watching portions. I learned that calorie deficit is king for fat loss.....period. 

And then when I learned to focus on getting enough protein, my body composition started to change. I learned the importance of building muscle and what that can do for metabolism, fat loss, and overall health. Getting enough protein makes it easier to build muscle, maintain muscle during fat loss phases, and helps keep you fuller longer and more satiated while in a cut.

WANT TO FEEL THE PEACE I FEEL?
 
Don't get me wrong, I DO still struggle in my own journey, but it's a completely different struggle. I now have peace of mind, knowing I have the information I need to make the appropriate choices to get where I want to go. I am so relieved I don't have to keep searching and being confused as to why nothing works for me.  I can now navigate whatever phase of life I'm in with weight loss, muscle building, or maintenance and be confident in knowing what to do to make changes.  

I know all I need to be successful is to never give up, and I'm committed to never giving up.

PERFECTION, PATIENCE, CONSISTENCY:

Patience and consistency are significant keys to success. However, I have a personal rule: Perfection is not only not required, it's not allowed.
